Of the eight people in the group, two tourists independently reached the designated point on a catamaran. Two more people were found the day before from a helicopter and evacuated by Mi-8 to the village of Novosnezhnaya, Irkutsk region.
“The search from the air was carried out in difficult weather conditions: thick clouds, a lot of fog and rain. The tourists spent the night in the mountains and were very happy with the rescuers, their condition is satisfactory,” the Emergency Situations Ministry said. .
Two more were found by volunteer rescuers at the confluence of the Selenginka and Snezhnaya rivers.
The search for the two remaining missing, a man and a woman, continued in the difficult mountainous terrain since the beginning of the Siberian light day, while it was night in Moscow. As a result of the operation, during the study of the Snezhnaya River from the air, during aerial reconnaissance, the seventh member of the group was found.
