The Mission: Impossible franchise will not end with the eighth film

Date: June 19, 2024 Time: 13:44:56

The writer and director of the new installments of the Mission: Impossible series has confirmed that the eighth film will not be the end of the entire franchise. According to Christopher McQuarrie, he already has ideas for further development of the plot about agent Ethan Hunt, played by Tom Cruise.

Previously, the eighth film was expected to complete the story, so the picture was divided into two parts. But it looks like Hunt’s next spy adventures will be ahead of the fans.

Viewers’ opinions regarding the author’s statement were divided: some were delighted with the news, while others noted that eight parts of the franchise would be enough. Some have even compared the series to The Fast and the Furious.

The release of the first half of “Deadly Reckoning” will take place on July 12. Almost all the main actors from the previous parts will return to the film: Rebecca Ferguson, Simon Pegg and Ving Rhames. New members include Hayley Atwell, Cary Elwes, and Pom Klementieff.

Paramount Pictures has released the first poster for Mission: Impossible 7. Read more here.
