Fidgital is a new word that enters our life. Recently, the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation has recognized figurative games as an official sport. According to the order published on January 31, 2023, the discipline was named “phygital sports (functional digital sports)”. But the phygital is not just a sport. The youngest can join the novelty simply by visiting the new exhibition-game in the Moskvarium at VDNKh.
The Figital Exhibition is also a game where digital products are integrated into the world of physical phenomena and real objects. The show, baptized as “Camino del agua”, began almost a year ago, when a film with the same name had not yet been announced. The main idea of the phygital exhibition is to remind visitors of the importance of water in our lives, the need to take care of what made our planet habitable.
In the interactive exhibition-game, the smallest spectators will get to know each other, while schoolchildren and parents will repeat and consolidate their knowledge about the water cycle in nature, they will see a spectacular visualization of the appearance of water on our planet, they will learn how a waterfall works and a water supply system, a hydroelectric power station and treatment facilities are in operation. On a huge interactive table, young urbanists will activate numerous water-related objects and turn a nondescript town into a thriving garden city.
For those who like to shoot, turn handles and jump, the creators have devised several active zones to release energy. But this is also done with benefit – water cannons with real wet water fill a huge virtual waterfall that is drying up. The energy released in the rotation of the handles helps turn on the power plant’s turbine, bringing the entire city to life.
The little dreamers of the circumnavigation will be able to make their first trip, turning a real steering wheel, feeling the sea rolling and visiting almost all the seas on the planet in a few minutes.
For each completed stage of the Camino del Agua, the participant receives points on a digital card. The more points you accumulate, the more water is stored in the virtual-real world of the game.
We asked the pioneers of The Way of Water what they liked the most. Children: From preschoolers to high school students, they most often said “That’s it!” and his burning eyes only confirmed it. But the trip on the ship impressed both the young guests and their parents.
