Greece’s new supreme legislative body will last only one day because the elections were held according to a simple proportional system and neither party was able to form an autonomous government. By Monday afternoon, the president is expected to sign a decree to dissolve him and schedule new elections for June 25. The new vote will be carried out according to a reinforced proportional system and according to the lists of deputies, where the candidates who have obtained the highest number of votes in the previous expression of will will run for the first places.
Of the 300 deputies of the new parliament, 104 were elected for the first time, 13 more were not present in the previous composition, but participated earlier in the work of the legislative body. Likewise, as a result of the voting, 75 women received mandates as deputies, 9 more than in the previous electoral cycle.
