Of all the Russian officials, Sergei Kuznetsov is perhaps the most creative. He also has quite a lot of administrative work and other bureaucratic routines, but the chief architect of the capital also finds time “for the soul.” He can be found both on the running track and in blitz-zarub on the chessboard. And, of course, draw. Sergei Kuznetsov’s exhibitions have already gathered a wide audience in various Moscow venues, and now a collection of his works is in the New Tretyakov Gallery.
“For me, this is not the first experience of working with the gallery, but such a large monoproject of my works is presented here for the first time,” said the author. – The exhibition “Architecture of the World” is, first of all, a collection of the most vivid and important impressions that have been deposited in memory”. Sergey Kuznetsov travels a lot not only in different countries, but also in Russia. And he brings a lot of there, like anyone who has been somewhere. But if someone is wearing jeans, household appliances or the same baklava, then a professional architect appreciates impressions, bright details on trips, stores them in his head, and then transfers them to the artwork.
The exhibition presents sketches of buildings from different cities. You can see them until August 6
“Unfortunately, I still have a small workshop,” says Sergey Kuznetsov. “You can’t do big vertical works there, there just isn’t enough height. That’s why I painted a lot of what’s on the street last summer.”
The works are not done in oil or watercolor, but mostly in charcoal, and not on canvas, but on cardboard. In combination with the musical accompaniment, the dimness of the exhibition space and discreet lighting, a unique image of the opening is created. The exhibition presents sketches of buildings in St. Petersburg, the Vladimir region, Novosibirsk, Moscow, Venice, Rome, Florence, Delhi, Istanbul, Bukhara and Baku. The exhibition opens to everyone from today and will remain until August 6 in the west wing of the exhibition complex.
