As the VDNKh reference weather station showed, in the early morning of Christmas Eve it dropped to -23 degrees, while the day before it was -5, that is, the temperature dropped sharply by 18 degrees in one day.
“In the center of the city, in Balchug, it was -21.1, in the area of u200bu200bMoscow State University the thermometer rose to -22 (-21.8), in the area of TSKhA the air cooled to – 23.2 degrees”, report meteorologists from the capital. This is the coldest value since the beginning of the year, since before, below -20 degrees, the air did not cool.
At the same time, the temperature was not the same everywhere. So, it was -20.2 on the Varshavskoe highway, and in the Izmailovo area the air cooled down to -24 degrees. The coldest was in the town of Severny: -24.4 degrees. On the territory of New Moscow, the temperature ranged from -23.2 to -23.6 degrees.
By the way, the lowest values in the Moscow region were observed in the north and north-west: in Dmitrov -26.5, in Klin -27.2 degrees.
Note that despite the frost, the weather did not set a record, the maximum value for this day is -34.8 degrees, which was in 1891.
