There are not a few people who today receive a non-contributory pension, that is, those benefits managed by the Imserso, together with the autonomous communities, for those who have not contributed the minimum necessary to enjoy a contributory pension contributed by Security social. To be more exact, today there are more than 450,000 pensioners in our country who see how their monthly amount does not even reach half of the new Minimum Wage, approved by the Government in mid-February, which increased to 1,080 euros gross per month divided into 14 annual payments.

And all this maelstrom occurs after the recent implementation of the revaluation of non-contributory pensions by 15%. An anti-crisis measure that was launched during the summer of last year with the intention of dealing with the high rate of inflation that, in August of last year, exceeded the double-digit barrier for the first time in the last 30 years. Specifically, it did so by 10.4%. This increase, launched from within the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migrations, led by José Luis Escrivá, which is also extrapolated to the beneficiaries of the Minimum Vital Income.

The truth is that, going one step further, the full amount of the non-contributory pension is 484.61 euros per month in 2023. The difference with respect to the current SMI, retroactively from January 1, is up to 595.39 euros per month, which is about 6,784.54 euros per year. Likewise, this class of pensioners cannot access the supplement to reduce the gender gap, designed for women and men who have seen their professional careers jeopardize when they have had a child. In any case, what they can ask for is the annual supplement that in 2023 amounts to 525 euros. To be able to access, you will have to be homeless and have a rental contract.

As for the amounts, the full non-contributory retirement pension stands at 484.61 euros per month and the non-contributory minimum retirement pension (25%) will be 121.15 euros per month. If more than one non-contributory pension beneficiary lives in the same family, the individual amount for each of them is established at 411.91 euros per month if two beneficiaries coincide and 387.68 euros per month if three or more coincide.
