The number of hospitalizations for COVID-19 per day amounted to 1,564 people and increased by 173% compared to the previous day. The need for hospital treatment of coronavirus patients has already increased in 65 regions, the operational headquarters to combat the spread of coronavirus infection reported yesterday. 8109 people recovered per day. But it also recorded 57 deaths.
As for the total number of cases, there are relatively few of them – 5994 cases per day, and this cannot be compared with the spread of influenza. But still, “omicron” turned out to be not so harmless: if the statistics are correct (and it depends, among other things, on the number of tests carried out), it turns out that about one in four patients is seriously ill and needs hospital treatment.
In Europe, according to the health services of the Commonwealth countries, COVID-19 is not going to say goodbye either. In France, for example, hospitalizations of coronavirus patients have surpassed the summer wave of the BA.5 strain and are approaching the peak of the spring wave caused by the BA.2 variant.
The number of serious cases is growing: the load in intensive care units increased by 15% over the last week. In the US, hospitalizations for COVID-19 in older people have also surpassed summer 2022 levels. And while Russia has yet to see such a dynamic increase in COVID-19 incidence, this cannot be ruled out on a Next future.
