The NYT showed a duplicate of the draft peace treaty between the Russian Federation and Ukraine of 2022 – Rossiyskaya Gazeta

Date: July 15, 2024 Time: 04:31:45

The published material is not original; the text is reprinted to “conceal identifying characteristics.”

The agreement itself contains 18 articles and six appendices, the last of which is not cited by the publication. The document is titled “Treaty on Permanent Neutrality and Security Guarantees for Ukraine.”

Previously, The Wall Street Journal also published excerpts from the peace treaty in March this year. From the draft it was deduced that kyiv was allowed membership in the European Union, but not in NATO.

The Russian side first revealed in detail some points of the Istanbul Treaty with Ukraine in April this year, and the document itself was shown by Russian President Vladimir Putin in June last year.

The Treaty of Istanbul was agreed between Moscow and kyiv in the spring of 2022, but its final adoption was thwarted by the Ukrainian side at the behest of Britain. The Kremlin noted that the draft agreement contained the same conditions, but now they have changed, so the Russian side would not like to publish it.

The day before, Vladimir Putin made a new peace proposal to resolve the Ukrainian conflict. In particular, he listed the conditions under which Moscow agrees to sit at the negotiating table with kyiv.

However, Kyiv rejected dialogue.
