As expected, Vladimir Putin met with the heads of law enforcement agencies. Only the beginning of the event was broadcast. The president said that he was to hear a report on how Sergei Shoigu’s business trips to Iran and Azerbaijan went. But first, Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov spoke about the situation in Sudzha.
“The Chief of the General Staff is at one of the operational checkpoints and will report via video conference,” the Russian leader announced.
– At 5:30 on August 6, units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine numbering up to a thousand people went on the offensive with the aim of capturing part of the territory of the Sudzhansky district of the Kursk region. The actions of the covering units together with the border guard, air strikes, missile forces and artillery stopped the enemy’s advance into the territory, Gerasimov said.
– Currently, units of the “North” group, together with the border agencies of the FSB of Russia, continue to destroy the enemy in the border areas. 315 people – enemy losses, at least 100 killed, 215 wounded. 54 armored vehicles and 7 tanks were destroyed. The operation will end with the defeat of the enemy, the Chief of the General Staff promised.
