Anti-award “Golden Raspberry” has introduced age restrictions for nominees. The reason for this decision was the mention of 12-year-old Ryan Kira Armstrong in the Worst Actress category. Variety reports it.
Anti-award founder John Wilson issued a statement apologizing to the actress and confirming that her name had been removed from the list of nominees. He also added that from now on only adult actors will be nominated for the Golden Raspberry.
“Sometimes you do something without thinking and then you get judged for it. And then you get what you deserve. That is why the Golden Raspberry Award was created. We never set ourselves the goal of burying anyone’s career. That is why our Reputation Restoration Award was created. We all make mistakes, including us,” Wilson said.
Earlier, the American anti-award in the field of cinema published a list of nominees. Among them was 12-year-old Ryan Kira Armstrong, Charlie from the new film adaptation of Stephen King’s “Fiery Eyes.” Because of this, a wave of criticism against the organizers of the prize has risen on the Web.
