Andrei Mikhalevich, head of the economics and investment department of the Federal Fisheries Agency, cited the example of the “Affordable Fish” program launched in the Kamchatka Territory. Indigenous communities participate in his work. Indigenous peoples engage in traditional fishing and supply surplus fish to the commercial network.
“We need to move in this direction, and not only in Kamchatka, but throughout the country,” Mikhalevich concluded.
On the same day, a session was held dedicated to the methods and tools that regions use to preserve and popularize the culture of indigenous peoples and introduce younger generations to ethnocultural values.
On September 11, within the framework of the “Soul of Russia. North” pavilion, there will be talk about strengthening the economic and cultural development of the border territories of Russia and China thanks to ethnic ties between the indigenous peoples of the two countries, about ethnotourism. in Russia and the implementation of the rights of indigenous peoples.
As the Ministry of Eastern Development promises, the “most delicious program” will begin on September 12. It will open with a discussion of the gastronomy of the Far Eastern Federal District, which uses seafood and taiga, combines national cuisines and culture of indigenous peoples, traditions of hunters and cuisines of Asian countries.
In addition, that day the round table “Woman – Leader of the North” will be held. And the Spirit of Fire Academy will present projects in the field of cinematography, demonstrating the active development of regional cinema.
In addition, master classes in decorative and applied arts and Nordic dance, as well as concerts by creative groups, are organized for visitors to the pavilion.
On September 10, the VIII Eastern Economic Forum opened in Vladivostok. The summit will take place on the campus of the Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) under the theme “Towards cooperation, peace and prosperity.” It will last until September 13.
