The Polisario Front demands Sanchez to explain his letter to the King of Morocco

Front Polisario Spain needs a Prime Minister Pedro Sanchezwhich “correct” its position in relation to West Saharaand “specify the concepts we know in the letter you sent to the King of Morocco, Mohammed VIin which he speaks of the territorial integrity” of this country.

The Frente POLISARIO in Spain is demanding that Pedro Sánchez “correct” his position on Western Sahara.

This was announced by his representative. Abdullah Arabiat the XXVI Conference “Peace and Freedom for the Saharan People”, which is taking place this Saturday in the Parliament of La Rioja and which brings together regional parliamentarians from all over the country, to demand a joint statement in favor of self-determination Western Sahara.

Speaking to reporters, Arabi added that the Frente POLISARIO is demanding that Sanchez explain “what he understands by the territorial integrity of Morocco, whether they are its internationally recognized borders or whether they take for granted that Western Sahara is part of Morocco.”

In this context, he asked the regional parliaments to reaffirm their commitment Saharawi people in these present conditions, in which “there has been a radical turn on the part Spanish government“.

“This step, taken by the Spanish government,” he added, “was rejected by almost all authorities at the national and regional levels, because it violates the consensus that existed in Spain on the Saharan case, it distances itself from international legitimacy“.

Abdullah Arabi asked the regional parliaments to reaffirm their commitment to the people of the Sahara.

But, “above all,” he stressed, “this excludes any possibility that Spain could play the role of a mediator in finding a solution to the Sahara issue within the framework of international law.”

The Spanish government, he said, stands “next to the occupying power, which is Morocco; it distances itself from the right to self-determination of the Saharan people and refuses to help UN seek a political process leading to a solution based on international law.”

He recalled that the Saharawi people are “fighting for their independence from 46 years old and this decision of the government of Spain, like that of other countries, does not in any way change the political and legal situation of the question of Western Sahara.”

“This is still an unfinished decolonization, and to complete it,” he said, “the Saharan people must be given the opportunity to decide, through a self-determination referendum, who they want to be, and the choice of independence must be yes.” or yes.”.

“Let’s bet on peaceful way as the best solution, but with the same determination to continue our struggle until we have established our ultimate goals in freedom of independence,” he concluded.
