The premiere of the serial project “Chaliapin” about Fyodor Chaliapin will take place in Okko on February 13. The series is dedicated to the dramatic fate of the legendary opera performer, who became a symbol of national culture at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.
The production of the series was handled by the Moskino film company. In the role of Fedor Ivanovich Chaliapin – Alexander Gorbatov. The film also starred Yulia Snigir, Maria Smolnikova, Alexander Yatsenko, Fedor Dobronravov, Irina Pegova, Roman Madyanov, Fedor Lavrov, Jan Tsapnik and others. The director was Yegor Anashkin, who worked on the projects “The Bloody Lady” and “Zuleikha opens her eyes.”
“Chaliapin is not quite a biographical film, although we tried to look at the main points in the life story of Fyodor Ivanovich, his relationships. And, of course, we were interested in time itself. The events of the film unfold against the background of the Silver Age, the heyday of national culture, all the contradictions and upheavals of the era of the beginning of the 20th century, ”said Ekaterina Zhukova, producer of the film.
The audience will see different heroes of the time in the film: Chaliapin’s two wives, Italian ballet star Iola Tornaghi and Maria Petzold, artists Konstantin Korovin and Mikhail Vrubel, actor Mammoth Dalsky, the founder of the Russian Private Opera Savva Mamontov, composer and conductor Sergei Rachmaninov, as well as the artist’s father, Ivan Chaliapin, played by Fyodor Dobronravov.
Earlier it became known that the premiere of the biographical series “Ranevskaya” with Marietta Tsigal-Polishchuk in the lead role will take place on February 8 in the Kion online cinema. The series covers different periods of the life of actress Faina Ranevskaya, from her youth in Taganrog and dreams of the stage to all-Union fame and loneliness in adulthood.
