The total price reduction since the beginning of the fifth day of the new year is more than 2.8%. The cost of February futures at the TTF center in the Netherlands fell to $696.3 per thousand cubic meters.
The price of gas in Europe has been falling every day for the third week in a row. The day before, the cost of blue fuel reached the level of February 18, 2022, breaking the mark of $750 per thousand cubic meters.
The reason was the abnormally hot weather in European countries. In Berlin, for example, now it is +10 and a couple of days ago it was +15. That is why rather large gas reserves in underground storage facilities are consumed more slowly than usual. However, according to forecasts by meteorologists, this winter season Europe is still not expected to avoid cold weather, it is simply approaching the end of winter.
