The Russian analogue of Wikipedia will be released in early 2023. The scientific and educational encyclopedic portal was called “Knowledge”. This was reported by Interfax with reference to the Minister of Digital Development Maksut Shadayev.
“With Wikipedia, we still have the following situation: we mark it as a resource that violates the requirements of the law, but it is still available,” Shadayev said.
The trial version of the knowledge portal is already running. Unlike Wikipedia, to write articles you need to fill out a questionnaire, indicating your full name, title, position and area of scientific interest. Shadayev noted that the service will be prioritized in search results.
“This resource is scheduled to launch at the beginning of the year. And, of course, we only recommend consulting it, because there are accurate and verified materials that have passed a multi-stage verification procedure, ”Shadayev said.
Previously, Google excluded Russia from the Year in Search project for the most popular queries. Belarus, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, China and Latvia will also not participate in the initiative. Read more here.
