The Russian Defense Ministry has published images of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ chemical laboratory, where chemical warfare agents for drones were produced.
The APU laboratory was discovered during an engineering survey in one of the settlements in the Avdeevka area, in an industrial zone on the first floor of a destroyed building.
A mobile diagnostic group of the NBC protection troops of the Russian Armed Forces was sent to the site to inspect the facility and conduct a rapid analysis.
The results of their work were reported yesterday by the head of the Radiological, Chemical and Biological Defence Troops (RCBZ) of the Russian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov.
In particular, he said that in the laboratory, 2-3 people can synthesize at least 3 kg of chemical warfare agents based on hydrocyanic acid, which are prohibited by international conventions, per day. At the same time, the lethal dose of this group of toxic substances by inhalation is very small and for humans amounts to only 70-80 mg.
Kirillov noted that this compound is a colorless volatile liquid with the smell of bitter almonds. And anyone who has already smelled this smell in the air should immediately receive medical help. When inhaled, this toxic chemical instantly causes dizziness, rapid breathing, vomiting, convulsions, paralysis of the respiratory muscles and death.
This substance was not only used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in various areas. Images of the launch together with Ukrainian drone munitions were widely published online.
By the way, in addition to the equipment and reagents, American gas masks and a Polish-made protective suit were found in the Ukrainian Armed Forces laboratory. It is possible that foreign specialists will be able to control the production of the poison.
