The singer of “I am Russian” SHAMAN is checked for extremism: the police went to the artist’s grandmother

Sometimes national fame is not just full houses, admiring comments, one hundred percent recognition and solid fees. This also has a bunch of side effects: from communicating with annoying fans to problems with not quite suitable people.

So the new pop star SHAMAN took a sip from the bitter cup. She received a statement before the prosecutor’s office from a compatriot, a resident of the Tula region, who did not like the song “I am Russian” because of its refrain. The listener perceived hints of extremism in the popular lines of the composition (Article 282 Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and demanded that the security forces carry out a check. Yaroslav was summoned to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation for the Tula region.

At first glance, it sounds absurd, today only Ukraine can forbid calling each other Russian, but this is not entirely true. The fact is that some statements and comments that seem harmless, after being exploited by far-right nationalists in Russia, were recognized as extremist (for example, the phrase “Russia for the Russians”, which is attributed to Alexander III).

Including the inscription “I am Russian”, popular in certain circles of nationalists, on a T-shirt has become a kind of hallmark of a person with radical patriotic views. The policemen know this very well. In the Fizruk series, such a cartoon hero was even introduced – a sporty blue-eyed Slav Dimas (Dmitry Vlaskin), who wore a T-shirt “I am Russian”, listened to the conservative group “25/17” and hated immigrants. .

And in the list of videos banned by the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation there is also a video with the name “I am Russian”, however, all this has nothing to do with the work of SHAMAN. Probably, the “nationalist style” that reaches the popular catchphrase that the artist sings in the choir only played a cruel joke on the vocalist.

As it became known to KP.RU, employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs arrived at the place of registration of SHAMAN, in Tula. In the apartment, where, by the way, the clip “My Family” was filmed. At home were the artist’s grandparents, who were discouraged by the fact that the police were looking for his grandson.

Relatives immediately called Yaroslav and gave him the contact of the district police officer, with whom the singer contacted. Since we are talking about verification of the fact of the complaint, and Dronov did not receive procedural status, the employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs asked him to write an explanatory note remotely (the artist lives in Moscow). What SHAMAN did. And he showed the paper on the Telegram channel.

– My song “I am RUSSIAN” is known, loved and sung by representatives of completely different nationalities inhabiting our country, – it is written in the form. – For each of them, speaking and thinking in Russian, the statement “I am RUSSIAN” means belonging to our common history, great culture and spiritual kinship with millions of other fellow citizens who consider Russia their homeland.

In an explanatory note, SHAMAN also recalled that the outrageous song was broadcast on Channel One on New Year’s Eve “immediately after Russian President Vladimir Putin’s festive speech, the traditional ringing of the Kremlin chimes and the anthem of our country”.

The reaction to the explanatory letter from the representatives of law enforcement agencies or the plaintiff has not yet followed.

By the way, this is exactly what, “I am Russian”, is the name of the artist’s new concert program, which he will present in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Orel, Bryansk and other cities of the country.
