The six most demanded professions in 2023 that you can study in FP

After completing all the cycles of compulsory education, many students opt for different job opportunities. From continuing with the Baccalaureate, taking the EBAU test and entering a university degree to starting an intermediate level of Vocational Training and accessing the labor market earlier.

Today there are many studies available adapted to the demand of companies in recent years. As Clara Sanz, General Secretary for Vocational Training, highlighted in an interview, multinationals ask for guarantees that they will be able to count on well-trained professionals and how this is an essential element for them to settle. In fact, the Ministry of Education, through the General Secretariat of Vocational Training, is working on new formations linked to lithium batteries, hydrogen or biomass.

Guadalupe Bragado, Director of Vocational Training at the Official Vocational Training Center (CCC), explains that “the evolution of the labor market is demonstrating the capacity of Vocational Training to promote professional trajectories that will mark the future in the short and medium term.” For this reason, VT is becoming an effective way to respond to current market needs. In this sense, the study center has analyzed the characteristics of those technical professionals that companies will demand the most throughout 2023 and that it is possible to study in FP.

From administrative to electricians

In order to prepare this study, they have taken into account the Observatory of Occupations of the Public State Employment Service (SEPE), which analyzes the current state of the labor market. Taking this analysis into account, the professionals who have a higher level of recruitment are:

Administrative management: both in customer service and administrative and assistant managers. In the last 12 months, more than 161,000 contracts have been signed in this branch. Within this professional family, Senior Technicians in Administration and Finance succeed, who obtained more than 111,000 contracts in 2022 2022, more than 112,000 contracts were created for auxiliary nursing technicians. Likewise, there are also other disciplines such as pharmacy and parapharmacy technician, senior imaging technician for diagnosis and nuclear medicine, clinical and biomedical laboratory or oral hygiene with great demand. 2023: this sector continues to be key in the labor market, especially due to the lack of generational relief. The Electrical and Automatic Installation Technicians have signed more than 33,000 contracts in the last twelve months and another alternative, such as electronic maintenance technicians, have received more than 10,500 contracts per year. Degrees such as the one indicated have gathered more than 14,000 contracts in 2022 and others such as the development of multiplatform applications or the administration of networked computer systems had between 12,000 and 13,000 contracts.

However, technical skills and abilities will not be the only ones essential to be able to get a job. Those known as ‘soft skills’ or soft skills and digital skills will continue to make a difference for the selection of some candidates or others.
