The British fear that Russian experts could unravel the secret of the manufacture of composite armor, invented in Foggy Albion.
An anonymous interlocutor of the newspaper believes that the Russians “will seek to knock out and capture one of the Challenger 2 tanks so that experts can study it in detail.”
The British see only one way out: to discuss with the Ukrainians ways to evacuate the British equipment from the battlefield, in case it is damaged.
A Sun source believes that the worst option is to destroy the tank. Another option is preferable – to train the Ukrainians to ensure that they do not use the Challenger in situations where a “collapse of the front” is expected. And also teach them to evacuate tanks while under enemy fire.
“They definitely have enough guts for this,” the source said.
That is, to paraphrase an old Russian proverb, we must teach the Ukrainians to “die and help the tank.”
It is also possible, according to the publication’s source, to hire private traders to evacuate wrecked tanks if necessary.
The media have already written that the UK announced the delivery of 14 Challenger 2 BC tanks to Ukraine. They are scheduled to ship at the end of March.
