On April 12 and 13, the Taganka Theater will host the premiere of 104 pages about love, directed by Viktoria Pechernikova and based on the legendary work by Edward Radzinsky. In the center of the plot is a girl floating in the sky and a cynical man, a man of science, standing firmly on the ground.
“I wrote a play about love. About how people fall in love, like under a train,” said Edvard Radzinsky.
The writer created the work at the age of 25 and immediately became famous throughout the country. And in 1968, the famous film director Georgy Natanson made the film “Once Again About Love” with Tatyana Doronina and Alexander Lazarev, which became a classic of Soviet cinema and subtly conveyed the atmosphere of the “thaw”.
“The main characters – nuclear physicists, flight attendants, poets – are all the most important people of the 1960s era, a time of hope, fresh air and freedom. But at the same time, they were cynical about love, they put it second. And this has migrated to our days: who now truly believes in elevated spiritual love? Returning the word “love” to its original meaning and finding out whether the soul has disappeared behind the veil of technology without falling into banality and sentimentality – this is what we want to achieve with the production, ”the director shared.
Previously, Yuri Muravitsky left the post of chief director of the Taganka Theater. His decision was deliberate and voluntary. Read more here.
