After the terrorist attack on the Crocus City Hall concert hall, the first discussions arose about whether it should be restored or not. Of course, it is too early to make such decisions and no one will do so now. But the public provoked active debates on this topic on social networks. They appeared after the Russian company Crocus International, owner of the Crocus City Hall concert hall, issued a statement that included the following words: “Our company has been operating for more than thirty years. And within the walls of the Crocus City Hall concert hall, named after the great musician Muslim Magomayev, thousands of events at the highest level have been held for fifteen years. We will never forget those who were victims of terrorists. What was destroyed by their dirty hands will be restored.”

The owner of the venue later said that the decision whether or not to restore the concert hall would be made after some time, taking into account the opinions of citizens and the country’s leaders. By the way, the results of a survey on the KP.RU website showed that 71% of respondents believe that it is not necessary to restore the concert hall, it is better to demolish it and install a monument at this place. It would be better to build a new concert hall somewhere else.
As discussions about this topic erupted on social media, by the end of the week artists began speaking cautiously about the restoration of Crocus Town Hall.
For example, popular artist Vladimir Vinokur expressed his opinion and that of his colleagues in a Telegram channel: “I fully support the initiative to restore the hall named after the Muslim Magomayev. I remember when at the Crocus City site there was a piece of land, just a well. Araz and Emin Agalarov built one of the best halls in Russia, where my concerts and those of my colleagues were held. Over the years, for us artists, this place has become a very expensive and iconic place. The hall was built in memory of my dear friend and great artist Muslim Magomayev. The building also houses a museum dedicated to Muslims. I think it is symbolic that the museum was not affected by the fire. Many of my colleagues and I are in favor of the restoration of the Muslim Magomayev concert hall. “I offer my deepest condolences to the families of those killed and to all those affected on March 22, 2024.”

Singer Valeria was careful in her words in this regard, pointing out that the Crocus Town Hall was the best hall in Moscow and needs to be restored, but time must pass and the decision will be made by the public. Meanwhile, Valeria and her famous colleagues released this week a cover album “Hear My Voice” of the legendary compositions of Muslim Magomayev, whose name was called “Crocus City Hall”: “It all comes from listening to the songs on the album in any La platform will be transferred to the families of the victims and victims of the terrorist attack.”
On the VKontakte platform alone, the album “Hear My Voice” had 3.9 million views as of the morning of March 30.

The lead singer of the group Reflex, Irina Nelson, believes that Crocus should be restored by creating a memorial nearby; Participant in television intellectual games and deputy Anatoly Wasserman believes that a memorial monument should be installed at the site of the tragedy and the concert hall restored: “We must show that terrorists cannot force us to change our way of life.” People’s artist Alexander Mikhailov and actor Anton Bogdanov spoke out against the restoration of the hall at the site of the tragedy. For now, one thing is clear: talk of whether or not to restore the room is premature.
