The Tretyakov Gallery organizes a series of film screenings dedicated to the 175th anniversary of the birth of the artist Vasily Surikov. The event will take place on January 28 in the Engineering building of the museum. This is reported by TASS with reference to the Deputy Director General of the gallery of scientific work Tatyana Karpova.
The program “Vasily Surikov’s Day at the Tretyakov Gallery” includes documentaries and feature films. The edition of one of them included archival images of exhibitions of the artist’s work in the Tretyakov Gallery, which were held in the past.
Another tape will show the story of Surikov’s creation of one of his most famous paintings – the painting “Boyar Morozova”. Film historian Naum Kleiman and Tretyakov Gallery art critic Tatyana Yudenkova will perform at the evening.
Recall that the number of visitors to the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts in 2022 increased by more than 1.5 times compared to last year. In total, their number was 1.2 million people.
