The restrictions are introduced from February 27, 2023 and refer to the supply of 26 types of products. In particular, the United States also prohibits deliveries to Russia of refrigerators worth more than $750, printers worth more than $300, vacuum cleaners with built-in motors worth more than $100, household microwave ovens worth more than $300, electric coffee makers and toasters worth more than $300, and air conditioners worth more than $750 dollars, fans of any type, floor, wall, more than $750 dollars. In addition, it will be prohibited to supply audio equipment for recording and reproduction.
The US Department of Commerce has placed similar restrictions on Belarus. To supply goods to Russia and Belarus, the exporter will need a special license, which the US authorities intend to grant only in exceptional cases.
According to experts, this will inevitably increase the volume of “parallel imports”, that is, “gray schemes” for the supply of goods to Russia through neighboring countries.
