In mid-February, the Moscow State Academic Vakhtangov Theater will host the premiere of Fellini. 8½”. The main role will be played by Vladimir Vdovichenkov. This was reported by TASS with reference to the statement of the press attache of the theater Elena Kuzmina.
The production was directed by Leyla Abu-al-Kishek, authored by Stanislav Baryshnikov. They rethought the script of Federico Fellini, Ennio Flaiano, Tullio Pinelli and Brunello Rondi. “Fellini. 8 ½” tells the story of Italian film director Guido Anselmi, which is similar to the fate of Fellini himself.
“I wanted to find an unusual and rare story for the theater. Fellini’s work has always attracted me and I have been looking for the opportunity to get in touch with him for a long time. Fellini’s film language is very theatrical,” said Leila Abu al-Kishek.
Previously, he worked in the shows “Frida. Life in Color”, “Nijinsky. Brilliant Idiot” based on the texts by Nika Simonova, “Promise at Dawn” based on the novel by French writer Romain Gary.
In addition to Vdovichenkov, Yuri Shlykov, Anna Dubrovskaya, Oleg Forostenko, Svetlana Iosefiy, Natalya Masich, Vladislav Demchenko, Yuri Kraskov, Agnessa Peterson, artists Yana Sobolevskaya, Karolina Koytsan, Oleg Lopukhov, Asya Domskaya, Elena Melnikova and Vera Novikova will appear at the stage, plus Vdovichenkov.
The production will premiere on February 16, 17 and 26 on the New Stage of the Vakhtangov Theater.
As a reminder, on January 26 and 27, the Praktika Theater will host an unusual production – a plastic performance based on the verses of Joseph Brodsky.
