The festival of voices of young cinema, which took place in Vologda and Cherepovets from July 6 to 9, has ended. Festival screenings, concerts, lectures and an exhibition drew 5,000 spectators. The winners of the contest show were chosen by the audience.
According to the voting results, the drama “Ada” was recognized as the best film. The best director was Stanislav Svetlov for the film “Hell”. “Best role” – Khadizhi Batayeva for the film “The cage is looking for a bird.” Khadija is the first Chechen actress to receive such an award. In the short film program, two films got the same number of votes: “Nine Girls on the Edge of Reality” by Dasha Dyachok and Olga Peretyatkova and “The Fugitive” by Salome Kinsurashvili.
“The viewer chose the winners, and it was their right and even their duty. It is especially important to be aware of the choice in the acting nomination, where the Chechen girl Khadija Bataeva from the film “The Cage is Looking for a Bird” by Malika Musaeva won. This is a very important act of solidarity and sympathy for the plight of women in the Caucasus. As for the winner’s film, we will show Youth Hell as part of the KARO.Art project at the Oktyabr film center on July 14,” said Sergey Deshin, curator of film programs.
