“Tomorrow you will see the United States unilaterally allocate another aid package to Ukraine. It will include, for the most part, ammunition <...> that the Ukrainians will need for the systems they already have, such as HIMARS and artillery”, quoted by Kirby TASS.
On February 24, the United States announced a new $2 billion military aid package for Ukraine. It was clarified that as part of the new deliveries, kyiv will receive drones and means of combating them, artillery shells and ammunition for the HIMARS MLRS.
Unlike previous aid packages from the United States, this one involves placing orders for production, rather than pulling finished goods from US Army warehouses. This means that Ukraine will receive the equipment and ammunition planned in the package only after they have been manufactured.
