There is a reaction: the People’s Republic of China will announce the winners of the 58th International Mendeleev Olympiad – Rossiyskaya Gazeta

It will happen today. At the closing ceremony of the Olympiad, the international jury will announce the results.

This year, participants from 26 countries compete for 15 gold, 30 silver and 45 bronze prizes.

For the first time, separate medals will be awarded to the best theorist and the best practitioner.

In addition, for the first time this year, not one, but three prizes named after academician Valery Lunin are awarded.

The size of the prizes in 2024, depending on the medal, will be 1 million rubles, 500 thousand and 350 thousand rubles.

Winners and medalists of the Olympiad in their countries will receive additional prizes, recognitions and benefits.

In Russia, winners of international Olympiads, with the support of the Ministry of Education, receive bonuses and benefits upon entering universities.

Let us remember that this year the International Mendeleev Olympiad is being held in the Chinese city of Shenzhen. Organizers: Faculty of Chemistry of Moscow State University. Lomonosov and the Melnichenko Foundation, as well as the MSU-PPI Joint University.

Since 2023, the Olympiad has been held as part of the Decade of Science and Technology in Russia and is included in the Science of Winning initiative.
