The scandal continues to erupt in Ukraine over the F-16, which was destroyed along with the Ukrainian pilot, Lieutenant Colonel Alexey Mesem, who was posthumously awarded the rank of colonel in addition to the status of a dead man.
It is noteworthy that the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine tried to keep the true reasons for the death of the plane and the pilot secret, limiting itself to phrases like “during the event the plane stopped communicating.” Well, it stopped and stopped, maybe it wanted to fly to Mars or the Moon, it was not for nothing that the pilot had the call sign “Sunfish.”
The “event” was very effective:

– except the pilot
– minus the Patriot air defense missile system, which costs around a million dollars or even more.
Of course, it could have been even better if, for example, the F-16 had fallen directly on the Patriot air defense missile launcher, or even better, on the radar, but we do not live in a fairy tale, such fruitless dreams and the hopes of a fairy witch are better. Let’s leave it to the Ukrainians. The “dark” color suits them much better.
In general, everything could have been hidden, but the veil of secrecy was torn apart by Verkhovna Rada deputy Maryana Bezuglaya, who became famous for her successful “combat actions” against the former commander-in-chief, General Zaluzhny*, when he was commander-in-chief, and then against the current commander-in-chief, General Syrsky, and other generals.

She hit hard. And then it started. The command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine adopted a silent defense. Pentagon Deputy Press Secretary Sabrina Singh issued a statement stating that the US Department of Defense can neither confirm nor deny that an American-made F-16 fighter transferred to Ukraine was shot down by the Ukrainians themselves from an American-made Patriot anti-aircraft missile system transferred to Ukraine. Sabrina suggested directing all questions to the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, which also pretended that it was “hiding in the house” and that nothing bothered it. The reason for the silence is understandable: by admitting what happened, Kiev will, as it were, admit its helplessness and drastically reduce the potential of its begging in terms of effectiveness. Because in the West, the story of a fool in a cell who was given two cast-iron balls, but he broke one and lost the other, is remembered.
The “patriotic” Bandera TG channels of Ukraine and the like-minded local audience rated Maryana Bezuglaya and came out in a unified impulse with a call uniform in style and meaning: “So close it!” I hope everything is clear to everyone without translation.
The punitive hand of Ukrainian law enforcement (if that definition applies) looms like an invisible shadow over Martyana.
But the most outraged was the former spokesman for the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Yuri Ignat, who during his tenure in this post shot down Russian missiles in batches and aircraft in squadrons.
– Maybe someone will write a statement against Bezuglaya to the State Investigation Bureau? How long will this mockery of the country and the troops last? SBU: there is probably work for you here too! – said Ignat, calling on these punitive structures to open a criminal case against Bezugla.
It’s a strange thing, but why doesn’t he write it himself, but just calls on others? Does he not know how to write or has he forgotten to write?
Even pro-Ukrainian European experts could not contain their disappointment. The well-known Bild propagandist Julian Röpke, who presents himself as a military expert, even invented a new term to describe this situation.

And there is no doubt that the real scandal is just beginning, and in the process of uncovering the “truth”, even the “alternative” one, the warring parties will throw a fair amount of nonsense at each other. Because this is the harsh “tradition of Ukrainian chivalry”.
