Santander and Zara are the only Spanish brands that are positioned among the 100 most valuable in the world according to the Interbrand ranking. The Inditex brand is placed in 43rd place (3 up from the previous year), while the banking entity is in 77th place (one below). Both brands have also seen their value increase compared to the previous year, specifically, 10% in the case of Zara and 7% in that of Santander.
Thus, while the fashion brand increases its distance from its competitor H&M, the bank chaired by Ana Botín maintains the title of most valuable banking brand in the Eurozone.
The CEO of Interbrand for Iberia and the Middle East, Nancy Villanueva, assures that “this year more than ever” we must congratulate the results of Spanish brands “in a context of stagnation.”
Which brands top the list
At a global level, the ranking podium is occupied by Apple, Microsoft and Amazon, maintaining the same positions as in 2022, as well as Google and Samsung, which are in fourth and fifth place respectively. Interbrand has highlighted that, after several years of strong growth, the value of the 100 largest companies has entered “a period of stagnation”; Well, this year the figure grows by 5.7% compared to the year-on-year increase noted in 2022.
Airbnb is the brand that has grown the most this year, rising 8 places in the table, to 46, and increasing its value by 22%.
