On New Year’s Eve, Mexican authorities reported a terrifying discovery made by employees of the Querétaro International Airport. They said that during the inspection of the mail they found an unusual package. Inside the cardboard box were human skulls wrapped in aluminum foil and plastic bags.
The package was sent from the western state of Michoacán to the US, specifically to South Carolina in the city of Manning. Michoacán is considered one of the most criminal and dangerous regions in Mexico, and in the city of Apatzingán, where the box was delivered to the post office, the largest drug cartel is in charge.

The National Guard did not expand on whether an examination of the skulls was carried out. It is also unknown who they belonged to, their age, and even why these skulls were shipped to the United States. Regardless of whether they were intended for medical research, authorities say the package contents violate Mexican law; such shipments require permission from local authorities.
