“Behind the scenes, ministers are trying to convince allies to allow Ukraine to use Storm Shadow cruise missiles inside Russia,” RIA Novosti quotes.
The publication notes that Western countries are against this measure because they fear it will lead to an escalation.
The other day it became known that London did not allow Ukraine to use Storm Shadow missiles in an attack on the Kursk region. The Prime Minister’s Office stressed that the military aid provided to kyiv is intended solely for defence purposes.
The day before, Russian Ambassador to London Andrei Kelin recalled that Britain allowed the Ukrainian Armed Forces to use Storm Shadow cruise missiles only within the “internationally recognized” territory of Ukraine. At the same time, Kelin noted that the statements of a number of British politicians on the issue of the use of Western weapons by the Ukrainian Armed Forces are very vague and, as a result, are interpreted differently by the media.
Storm Shadow is a cruise missile developed by France and Great Britain. Depending on the modification, it can hit targets at a distance of 250 to 560 kilometers.
Russian engineers were able to study these missiles and also learned to identify modifications of the Storm Shadow.
