“Tit” in capable hands: Ukrainian Armed Forces drones successfully counter electronic warfare units – Rossiyskaya Gazeta

The Rebovites do not disappoint either. The day before, the Russian Ministry of Defence spoke about the effective combat work of the crews of the R-934 Sinitsa electronic warfare stations of the Russian group of troops “North”.

“During a special operation, electronic warfare units perform tasks to counter enemy command and control systems for troops and weapons. A radio jamming station is capable of “jamming” the sky within a radius of several tens of kilometers,” the military said.

The operator sets the frequency range in which enemy drones operate. All drones in flight are displayed on the monitor. Operators can override control and navigation systems. The drone loses contact with the sender and, in most cases, simply crashes.

One of the main electronic warfare systems used during the SVO is the R-934 Sinitsa. The station operates both in radio reconnaissance mode, i.e. calculating the coordinates of enemy communications centers, their radar systems, control points of unmanned aerial vehicles, and in radio suppression mode, disabling the systems of enemy drones of various modifications, from reconnaissance drones to kamikazes.

“During combat duty, the crew of the R-934 station discovered several drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine trying to cross the state border. Having determined the control channel of the drones, the operator of the R-934 station suppressed it and the operator of the R-934 station suppressed it. The enemy drones, having lost control, fell to the ground,” the slave soldiers said about one of the cases of their combat work.

It is noted that electronic warfare stations are on duty around the clock to prevent attacks on border settlements and the flight of drones across the territory of the Russian Federation.

With the help of this station, electronic warfare specialists effectively suppress the control channels of not only industrially produced enemy drones, but also homemade “birds.”

“We conduct radio reconnaissance on certain frequencies, in certain ranges, we also perform radio suppression of enemy drones, such as Leleka, Fury, Valkyrie. Drones fly on a certain frequency. The station crew deploys them using a rotary mechanism. “After that we return to radio reconnaissance mode,” said the head of the electronic warfare station with the call sign Vinograd.

According to the Army, the station was initially developed for detection, direction finding, coordinates and electronic suppression of aviation VHF radio communications and tactical aviation guidance systems. During the process of improvement and modernization, the possibility of working through ground-based radio communication points, both fixed and mobile, was added.

At the same time, the calculation of the station will not be confused at all by the fact that enemy radio stations have the function of programmable adjustment of the operating frequency and the ability to transmit digital short messages in telecode mode. The “teta” will suppress everything it can reach.

The station allows continuous operation for 24 hours with a three-to-one operating time ratio for reception and transmission.

The time to deploy and bring the station into combat position does not exceed 30 minutes. An experimental calculation takes less time.

Earlier, the Russian Defense Ministry announced the operation of a more modern Krasukha-S4 jamming station in the Northern Military District. The complex is capable of detecting and tracking any aircraft, including those moving at low altitude.

At the same time, the Rebovites note that the Sinitsa’s operational range is not less. According to them, “Tit” is a club that can stun in a range of 360 degrees and at the entire depth at once.
