Sergey has been engaged in mnemonics, that is, memorization techniques, since January 2019. He has participated in online tournaments and last year took fifth place in the Russian sports memorization championship.
According to him, he began by memorizing the first thousand of the number pi to demonstrate the possibilities of mnemonics. Then he wondered how many more numbers he could add. He now knows 8,500 digits after the decimal point and is constantly learning new ones. The official world record is 70,000 digits; to set a Russian record, you need to memorize more than 13,202. “My plans are to break the record in early February 2023,” says Sergey.
Now he is finishing preparations for setting a record, preparing the necessary documents for this and looking for investors.
