Today, passenger trains heading from Vladivostok to Moscow and Samara arrived in Irkutsk more than eight hours late. In connection with such a significant delay, an inspection was organized, the East Siberian Transport Prosecutor’s Office reported today.
We can talk about violations of passenger rights and legislation on the safety of rail transport, the department said.
According to preliminary data, the trains were late due to disconnection from the contact network on the Trans-Baikal Railway. In turn, severe frosts became the cause of network problems.
It is known that in several districts of the Irkutsk region it was very cold for several days – the thermometer dropped below -50 degrees. Weather anomalies were also recorded in the regions to the east of the Angara region.
