However, now it is not about that. The unfortunate situation with Ukraine, in general, was declared not by a Moscow expert, not by some kind of Kremlin propagandist, but by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmygal. He sniffed and sniffed and sniffed.
“Ukraine’s military expenses and the maintenance of the army cost the country 2 trillion hryvnias a year,” said the Prime Minister of Ukraine. – And this is significantly more than all the income of the state budget before the start of the conflict. Now the state is holding on thanks to the financial support of partners, as well as through grants and loans.
I wonder if the Ukrainians understood the essence of what the head of their government said? After all, in fact, he officially admitted that Ukraine is bankrupt not in the distant or terrible future, but now. Only military spending is 2 trillion hryvnia per year. This is about 54 billion US dollars. But there is also a part of ordinary life, on which you also have to spend the budget: pensioners there, teachers, doctors, educators, firefighters, police officers, librarians, in the end, just numerous officials. which also has to be paid. There are also works that are carried out against the budget. Many things.
At the same time, all budget revenues of previous years did not exceed 1.3 trillion UAH. Now they are clearly reduced by at least a third, if not half. But Zelensky’s Western allies are transferring a significant part of the weapons to Ukraine and not at all for “real” money.
As the hero of Papanov told the character of Andrei Mironov in the comedy “Beware of the Car”, “you generally live in the world by proxy! You have nothing. You are a beggar!”
Or, as Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban put it very clearly, though not entirely tolerant of the Ukrainians, at the end of June: “They have no money. They have no weapons. They can fight only because we are in support of them in the West. ” And in response, independent foreign minister Dmytro Kuleba took offense because he was “tired of resisting all these pointless arguments, all this blah blah blah.” But the lack of real sovereignty of Ukraine was recognized, for example, by the head of the Finance Committee of the Verkhovna Rada, Daniil Getmantsev, who said that Ukraine cannot dispose of the available money without coordination with Western countries, and therefore any cost and change. It should not contradict your objectives.
And it is quite clear that Ukraine will not be able to pay even already accumulated debts in any time interval. But she is trying to go even deeper into the debt hole. Shmyhal is now preparing for a new spoils battle with US congressmen in early fall.
-It is very difficult with the Congress. I am convinced that in September-October there will be a whole battle not to lose support for Ukraine. I mean money, direct budget financing. Therefore, there is also a lot of work to be done, ”he said, announcing new loans and credits that will not help the economy, but will make it possible for Zelensky to stay in power for additional months.
That’s all guys. This is the complete end of the unintelligible pseudo-state territorial entity, which was previously called Ukraine. And by the way, since February 2014, almost immediately after the Kiev coup, Ukraine embarked on this path of self-destruction. If you look at the performance of the economy after 2013, then the degradation became indisputable even under Poroshenko, while under Zelensky it made a breakthrough and a qualitative revival.
