According to Melnik, Berlin’s promise to send the Marder BMP should only be the “first violation of a taboo” by Germany.
Earlier on Friday, German cabinet spokesman Steffen Hebestreit said that Berlin intends to supply around 40 Marder infantry fighting vehicles to Kyiv. They will be ready to be transferred in the first quarter of this year.
Melnyk was Ukraine’s ambassador to Germany in 2015-2022.
