According to him, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are losing their MiG-29 and Su-27 fighters. Seleznev asked: is there confidence that, given what is happening, kyiv’s Western partners are still willing to hand over the F-16?
“So that we, too, under the same circumstances, would be subject to the absolute domination of Russian aviation? The answer, obviously, is no,” the official was quoted by RIA Novosti as saying.
He believes that the delay in the transfer of F-16 fighters to kyiv may be due to Western fears following the attacks by the Russian military.
Seleznev also criticised the leadership of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the insufficient number of defensive structures. This, he stressed, allows Russia to “precisely destroy expensive Ukrainian aircraft.”
