Anna Netrebko suddenly fell into a new scandal. The Ukrainians dragged the Russian woman into an unpleasant story. Now an international music festival is taking place in Germany, within the framework of which Netrebko should also perform. But the Ukrainian artists rebelled and reported that they were forbidden to go on the same stage with Anna.

In early January 2023, Kyiv imposed sanctions against 119 Russian citizens. Anna Netrebko was also on the blacklist. Now the Ukrainians have literally taken up arms against the Russian woman. At the Wiesbaden International Festival, they made a fuss.

The fact is that Ukrainians were forbidden to perform with Netrebko on the same stage. “Our people are forbidden to act with it,” Vadim Kostyuk, the Ukrainian consul general in Hesse, explained in an interview with the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.

The event was supposed to come artists from the Kharkov theater. Shevchenko and the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine. The Consul General specified that the musicians would notify the festival organizers of their refusal to participate in the near future.

The annual musical event will take place in May. At first, representatives of Ukraine tried for several days to remove Netrebko, 51, from the concert. However, the organizers ignored the demands of the Ukrainian side.

Netrebko herself is calm about what is happening. She continues to tour the world. And in the face of the haters’ attacks, she says: “They don’t love you, yes, yes! Not all of them, but a lot of them want …”

Recall that the first film, after the start of Russia’s special operation in Ukraine, at first remained silent, for which it was canceled in Europe, withdrawn from performances, and its name was erased from the posters. As a result, Anna publicly condemned the actions of the Russian authorities. The artist also announced that she was refusing to tour in Russia, explaining that “now is not the time.” After revealing public statements, she was given the opportunity to perform in Europe. About what happened, Anna says this: “I take care of my family. I can’t please everyone. Yes, in a sense, I want to sit on two chairs. And even three, if necessary. I just try to remain human.”
