Ukrainian telegram channels reported that troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are allegedly located near Kursk. The text was accompanied by a photograph of a serviceman holding a sign on which it was written that the Russian city is only 10 kilometers away. “Komsomolskaya Pravda” found out what is really happening and why such photographs cannot be trusted. The audit was carried out as part of a joint project with Noodles Media, aimed at exposing false information.
The name of the city of Kursk is written in Ukrainian: Kursk. It is noteworthy that such an index really exists, but the numbers turned out to be completely different.
The authors of the telegram channel “Military Correspondents of the Russian Spring” reported that the photo could have been taken 108 kilometers from Kursk in the Sumy region and even provided evidence – a photo clearly showing that the sign does not say 10, but 108 km.
“A member of our team, a volunteer from the Northern Military District, passed through Kursk and showed the situation,” the authors of the channel added.
The video shows Kursk, an alarm is sounding, but there is no panic, people are rushing about their business, there are no units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the city.
It is noteworthy that such an index really exists, only the numbers turned out to be completely different.
And in the fake photo they simply erased the last digit to make it look like the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) were already approaching the city.
“Operation Psycho: The enemy continues to try to spread panic in the Kursk region by publishing fake photographs, allegedly at the “Kursk” sign – 10 km,” the authors of the “Military Correspondents of Russian Spring” channel added.
