Volunteers of Russian assault groups, liberating the city, offer local residents to evacuate to safe territories in Russia. Last Friday, a group of Artemovsk residents was handed over to Donetsk.
“On February 22, a sniper killed my wife through the glass of the house. She died. I was also shot, but I ducked when my wife fell and a bullet went by,” says Marchenko, wiping away tears.
According to him, a neighbor saw that two women in Ukrainian uniform were shooting.
“Two women, snipers, were seen by a neighbor. And I saw one: a small, chubby woman, in military uniform with a rifle, shot from a distance of about 100 meters from the attic of a neighboring house,” he said.
Yuri had to bury his wife right in the garden, because due to constant shelling it was impossible to get to the cemetery.
Another Artemovsk resident, Oleksandr Brezhnev, said Ukrainian troops had been shelling residential areas since May 2022, and then police forced residents to write down statements under dictation that they allegedly suffered from the actions of the Russian military.
