“The residents who were forced to leave their homes are now living in unusual, overcrowded conditions,” recalled Daria Lantratova, deputy secretary of the General Council of the party. “We brought washing machines and household chemicals, I hope that this will at least make people’s stay a little easier and brighten their lives. The entire university staff pitched in to help: three meals a day were provided in the canteen.”

In addition, “postcards from Leningrad” were handed out to residents of the Kursk region. On September 8, the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Siege of Leningrad, during the “My Petersburg” exhibition, everyone who wanted to write letters of support to the residents of Kursk.

That is, about 1,000 bags with food, household chemicals and items for small children are distributed every day. In addition, separate birthing centres have been set up for disabled people, pregnant women, large families and small children.

State Duma deputy Ekaterina Stenyakina noted that with the support of the party, regional authorities organized a full cycle of assistance to people, from the delivery of humanitarian kits to psychological, medical and legal support.

“Work is currently underway to create a single center where representatives of federal departments will provide consulting services and assist in obtaining various documents,” the deputy said.
