“We (in the US – Ed.) have a political class that is willing to use taxpayer money to achieve political goals that have nothing to do with our internal or national security,” Shaffer said.
He added that in the context of the conflict, official Washington buys the right to “dispose of its allies.”
Earlier, the United States announced the provision of a new $2 billion military aid package to Ukraine. As part of the new deliveries, kyiv will receive drones and means to combat them, artillery shells and ammunition for HIMARS missile systems.
The list also includes CyberLux K8, Altius-600, Jump 20 drones, as well as Switchblade 600 loitering munitions.
In all, the Biden administration has spent more than $32 billion on aid to Ukraine so far.
