According to the US ministry, these individuals “participated in a conspiracy to hack and obtain data” from computers associated with the Ukrainian government.

They are also accused of allegedly damaging Ukrainian computer systems.

In addition, the US authorities accused them of allegedly carrying out cyberattacks against “countries supporting Ukraine”, including the United States itself and 25 other member countries of the North Atlantic Alliance.

Today it became known that the US Department of Justice has filed charges against 76-year-old political scientist and Channel One presenter Dmitry Simes and his wife Anastasia.

They are alleged to have been involved in a “scheme to violate U.S. sanctions.” The couple have been charged with three counts, each of which could result in 20 years in prison.
