According to Sullivan, the Ukrainians are preparing for a counteroffensive and the F-16s, according to US officials, “are not key capabilities for a counterattack.”
He also noted that the possibility of supplying combat aircraft to kyiv is not a question of the immediate future, but of the long term. But contacts on this matter continue, Sullivan said.
