The port of Alexandroupolis has become one of the largest NATO transport hubs in Eastern Europe. Through its terminals, the Alliance forces deployed throughout the region, as far as the Baltic states, are supplied. This is due to the fact that Alexandroupolis is located on the Balkan coast of the European mainland and is connected by extensive transport infrastructure with other countries.
Liberty Pride is a huge transport ship: its displacement with cargo reaches almost 60 thousand tons. Ships of this type use a horizontal loading method and can carry several thousand vehicles in a single trip. True, most often they give out tanks and other weapons. Liberty Pride, along with Liberty Promise and Liberty Passion, are actively used to supply NATO forces not only in Europe, but throughout the world.
In the near future, other military vehicles will also arrive at the port of Alexandroupolis, delivering equipment, including for the NATO exercises Atlantic Resolve 23 and Defender Europe 23.
