The purchase budget is 1.5 million rubles. For example, the new Lada Niva Travel costs about this amount. For this money, the Tiguan will be 9-11 years old and have a mileage of less than 150 thousand km.
According to the expert, choosing a reliable Volkswagen Tiguan is difficult due to the engines: 1.4 and 2.0 TSI petrol and diesel. The latter is considered more reliable than its petrol counterparts, but its maintenance will cost quite a bit of money. The manual transmission is only available in conjunction with the younger 150-horsepower 1.4 engine, for all others – the Aisin TF-60SN hydraulic automatic transmission.
“Aside from the engine-related details, the rest of the Tiguan is an excellent car with a strong suspension, near-perfect ergonomics, a highly corrosion-resistant body and excellent equipment,” writes Behind the Wheel.
An alternative to the Tiguan for a similar budget could be at least a few more crossovers with better engines.
