VEB to support urban development projects in the Far East for 40 billion rubles

Date: July 24, 2024 Time: 05:53:56

VEB.RF Deputy Chairman Artyom Dovlatov took part in the meeting of the Presidium of the Government Commission on the Socio-Economic Development of the Far East, which took place in Vladivostok under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister and Plenipotentiary Representative of the President in the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev.

The meeting participants noted that a number of investment projects are a priority for preferential financing through the Ministry of Eastern Development of Russia by the state development corporation VEB.RF. Support will be given to projects developed within the framework of the Far Eastern concession program: modernization of street lighting in Chita and Birobidzhan, projects for the development of tourist infrastructure on Russky Island and Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.

“We will continue to focus the Far East concession mechanism on the implementation of master plans for the renovation of Far Eastern cities approved by the President, and we will strive to ensure that each such project has the maximum number of beneficiaries among residents and contributes to increasing the flow of tourists,” said Minister for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic Alexei Chekunkov.

“New investment projects from the general plans with a total volume of more than 40 billion rubles are considered priority. This is an important step, which means that in the near future VEB.RF will receive preferential funding for initiatives aimed at creating a new look for cities in several Far Eastern regions at once,” Artyom Dovlatov said.
