VI All-Russian Literary Competition “Class!” summed up the results of the Red Square festival – Rossiyskaya Gazeta

Date: July 14, 2024 Time: 14:03:33

This year, more than 13 thousand students from 8th to 11th grades from 80 regions of Russia and eight CIS countries applied to participate. For the first time, talented guys from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan reached the final. And this is not the first time that some finalists from Russian regions have been among the best. Thus, Polina Masharo from Karelia and Sofia Simonova from the Saratov region reached the final for the third time.

The names of the 50 winners were solemnly announced from the stage of the country’s main book festival. The award ceremony traditionally began with a performance by the actors of the RePeTe theater. This time they turned two stories from the Season V finalists into small performances. The first production immersed the audience in the life of the planet “Fabiara”, where all the inhabitants are extraordinarily cowardly. Everything there is made up of a horror-type chemical element, and local residents pay with the national currency: horrors. This amazing story “Fear as a Gift” was written by Alena Zaika from the Tyumen region. And another mini-production was based on the story “Tail, Mustache and Order” by Alexandra Sitnikova from the Moscow region.

Let us remember that already in September 50 lucky finalists of the “Class” will come to Moscow. The kids will enjoy master classes and a cultural program, and the winners will have the opportunity to appear in Russia’s leading literary publications. This year not only children, but also their parents are welcome in the capital. And also mentors, thanks to whom the talent of young writers was revealed. Jury member Anna Matveeva spoke about the quality of the texts presented this year.

“The main impression of the new season’s texts is that they have become much more diverse. The authors responded to the jury’s requests to not be afraid to show originality, and this benefited them, unfortunately there are still examples. “adult intervention” and evident caution. And I would point out another trend: it, however, is as old as the world. When the author has something to say, he does not have the floor, at best. many times he has nothing to say… And the writer usually turns out to be one of those for whom the “what” and the “how” are equally important, he stated.
