Viktor Baranets on his inclusion on the sanctions list in Ukraine: “It means that my contribution to the fight against this regime has been noticed by the enemy”

On the website of the President of Ukraine, on January 15, a list of 198 cultural figures, journalists, political scientists, against whom the Square introduces new sanctions, was published.

Among them are journalists from Komsomolskaya Pravda Viktor Baranets and Daria Aslamova.

KP.RU military observer Viktor Nikolaevich Baranets commented on the inclusion of his name on the sanctions list:

– The appearance of my surname in this list of senile sanctions of the Zelensky-NSDC of Ukraine (under number 40) does not surprise me. In addition, in 2019 (after the publication of my book “Special Operation Crimea-2014”), Kyiv blacklisted me on the “Peacemaker” website, where I was listed among “terrorists, separatists and their accomplices.” And now to be on this new list among the same nearly 200 fellow Russians who oppose the criminal regime in Kyiv (and we have tens of millions of them!) is an honor for me. This means that my contribution to the fight against this regime has been noticed by the enemy. Like and inspire. My weapon is not a machine gun or a grenade, my weapon is the word. Printed in a book or in a newspaper, said on the radio or television. And here you are on this stupid list just because you think differently than Zelensky or Arestovich. They managed to shut up the dissidents in Ukraine, but they will never silence me and my like-minded people.

Because it’s about as useless as trying to block out the Dnieper with a canvas shoe or block out the sun with a mop.

Do you want to laugh at this Kyiv nonsense? Sanctions, for example.

involve the freezing of assets, the restriction of business operations. My “asset” was once an old shack in the Kharkiv region, which, after the death of my parents and brothers, my relatives sold for a penny. I don’t do any “business operations” in the Ukraine, except maybe 10 years ago (on my way to Moscow) I bought a nice chunk of lard and a bottle of strong moonshine at kyiv’s Bessarabia market. I do not withdraw any “capital outside of Ukraine”, because I do not go there and do not work.

And the state awards of Ukraine cannot be deprived of me, because I simply do not have them. And so it is, in the entire list of sanctions measures. So why this formidable, but absolutely useless sanction stupidity? It is obvious then that it comes from the mental insufficiency of those who engendered it. Whose mind is clouded by malice.

Some former Ukrainian colleagues and compatriots (including those who shouted on the Maidan “Moskalyaku a Gillyak!”) in telephone conversations or in correspondence by e-mail reproached me more than once for “betraying” my small homeland.

I have only one answer: my small homeland Ukraine is the Ukraine of Gogol and Kozhedub, while your Ukraine is the Ukraine of Bandera and Shukhevych. I love the first, I hate the second. And with this, the second, I will fight together with the army. Despite any “sanctions”.
